Heed Farm Alpacas and Kai-Liis Art Studio share 10 acres in the beautiful Mulmur Hills north of Toronto. The first three alpacas were welcomed to the farm in 2006, and the herd has now grown to 16, including two adorable 2010 crias. What wonderful and interesting personalities they all have - it's a joy sitting in the alpaca paddock, just watching and sketching!
Heed Farm is also home to two Icelandic horses, an Eeyore-like mini donkey ("Why am I the last to get a carrot?"), two collies and several cats.
The Kai-Liis Art Studio, open for shows, studio tours, workshops and by appointment, features paintings (from the "almost" realistic to the illustrative and whimsical), cards, hasti notes and more. Often alpacas and sheep appear in the paintings! The studio also offers a selection of alpaca products - rovings, skeins, insoles, knitted hats, scarves and mittens.
Kai-Liis is a member of Alpaca Ontario, the Alpaca Breeders Collective, the Abstract Alpaca Consortium as well as the Nottawasaga Weavers and Spinners Guild and the Huronia Spinners Guild.
Visitors are welcome to Heed Farm Alpacas and the Kai-Liis Art Studio - but please call ahead!
